Sweeten up Your Life with a Jar of Delectable Honey
Welcome to E & T Farms
We are a family run business on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. We have been keeping bees for over 30 years. What started as a hobby has developed into a passion for producing only the finest honey and products of the beehive available. Our hard working bees pollinate local Cape Cod cranberry bogs and visit florals of this special area to produce beautiful golden honey.
Why Does Honey Taste So Good?
Honey is sweeter than sugar. The taste of honey varies depending on the blossoms visited by the honeybees. The color ranges from nearly translucent to dark amber, and its flavor varies from delectably mild to distinctively bold.
No matter what color and flavor, honey is the sweetener of choice for today's busy chef. Honey's sweetness is a natural not only on toast for breakfast, but as an ingredient in all sorts of recipes. Honey adds golden color, flavor, and body to a variety of simple sauces, dips, and toppings. You can easily substitute up to one-half the sugar called for in a recipe.
- Reduce the amount of liquid by 1/4 cup for each 1 cup of honey used.
- Add 1/2 tsp. baking soda for each 1 cup of honey.
- Reduce oven temperature by 25 degrees Fahrenheit to prevent over-browning of baked goods.
- For easy measuring of honey in your favorite recipe, spray the measuring cup with cooking spray before adding your honey.
The National Honey Board recommends that honey should not be fed to infants under one year of age. Honey is a safe and wholesome food for children and adults.
